Decorative concrete is a process in which specially mixed, colored concrete is poured while treating it with molds and/or tools that give the concrete a textured look. That look can resemble anything from wood floors to slate to cobblestone and aggregate. The advantages of this process are exceptional strength and weather resistance. Concrete can conform to any shape, and concrete can outlast traditional materials.

Cracks can be cosmetically repaired but they may come back especially here in Texas. We can remove the paint, glue, or whatever is on your floor. We can repair the cracks and apply a finish. When the work is complete, you’ll have a new natural gray concrete floor. Then, a new finish can be applied to your floor if you choose.
This depends on the condition of your floor, the size of the application area, and the type of finish you select. Estimate about a week for 1,000 square feet. Overlays typically take longer due to the coloring process, the amount of time required between applications, and drying time.
This is highly recommended. Whether the concrete work is inside or out, just walking on your new finish will wear the color. Sunlight will bleach it. Left unsealed, water can migrate into it and (if outside) make it susceptible to cracks from freezing and thawing. Sealers act as a wear surface and will protect your investment.
For acrylic sealant, we suggest once a year or at least once every two years. For polyurethane sealant, once every 3-4 years is recommended.
A decorative concrete overlay or micro top is as durable as the concrete it is bonded to and should last many years with the proper cleaning and maintenance as recommended.
